Dear Fellow Quotarians:
I am now halfway through the first year of my term as Canada Area Director. Time has gone by so quickly. I have spent countless hours reading by laws and policies trying to gain all the knowledge I can about Quota.
I attended the mid-term Board Meeting in Washington, D.C. from January 30 to February 1, 2009. It was a truly wonderful experience to work side by side with members from each of the areas of the Quota world. There is so much more to Quota than the monthly meetings of the clubs; not that these aren\\\'t very important! The World Service and International connections are just so interesting and exciting.
The message throughout Quota land that we need more clubs and more members to strengthen our organization. We need to get the word out that Quota is an organization that everyone should be proud to belong to and want to be part of. So far this year Canada is holding its own as far as membership is concerned; but it would sure be exciting to have a growth spurt.
I hope all of you took time to recognize the the 90th birthday of Quota and to reflect on how far we have come in those years.
I am looking forward to attending the three District Conferences that have been assigned to me. When I was District Governor, the club visits were the best part of the position; and I know that representing the Board at District Conferences will be equally as exciting. I know that I will learn lots of things that I will be able to share with all of you.
District Governors, Anne Ollikianen and Bev Jaegar, are busy planning for their respective Conferences and I wish them success with these very important events.
Please mark your calendars for the Canada Area Meeting to be held in Edmonton, Alberta September 25-27, 2009. It is being held at the Mayfield Inn which is just 5 minutes from West Edmonton Mall!! More information on this event will be coming out soon to all the clubs.
I want to thank all of you for the support I have received thus far on this leg of my Quota journey and please contact me if there is anything that I might be able to help your club with.
Most of all I want to thank Liz Revell for the many hours she has spent to get this new web site up and running for all of us to enjoy. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Yours in Quota,
Judy Goulet
