CANADA AREA COMMITTEES

The Canada Area Director has set up committees that will help the Governors, Lt Governors with D&G, promotions and marketing committee, a friendship committee and awebsite committee. These committees include members of both districts.

The Website Committee has been established to update and fine tune our Canada Area Website. The chair is Past Area Director Maureen Taylor, with members Past Area Director Liz Revell and Dist. 18 member Laurie Neill. If you have any suggestions or comments please contact Maureen with your ideas.

The Friendship Committee will unite and encourage correspondence between clubs in Canada. Partnered clubs will exchange information on fundraising and service. It may also provide recruitment ideas to clubs. The idea is to unite the CANADA Area and expand our TEAM CANADA to all clubs and members. Barbara Trafford from QI of Collingwood will be the Dist 18 liaison and Carol Claypool from QI of Estevan will represent Dist 11.

Club partnerships are as follows:

Estevan with Hamilton and Ottawa
Brandon with Orillia
Winnipeg with Barrie and Mariposa(Silver Q)
Weyburn with Huronia
Medicine Hat with Grey Bruce(Silver Q)and Orillia
Penticton with Collingwood
Wainwright with Owen Sound

The New Club Development Committee and the Marketing and Promotions Committee Canada needs to GROW and in order to do this we need a plan and committed members to helping us market Quota so we can GROW Quota. These committees will need to work together to structure various marketing strategies to accommodate our various types of communities.

Watch for news from all of these groups as the year progresses!

CANADA AREA MEETING

With the Canada Area Meeting planning complete Canadian Quotarians and international guests gathered September 28, 29 and 30 at the Stage West Hotel 5400 Dixie Road, Mississauga, Ontario. They met for a weekend filled with fun, workshops, and fellowship. On-site service for this meeting was coordinated by Quotarian Anne Keating Morrison and was the collection of items to be sent as Christmas gifts to our troops abroad and their families at home. For the Friday opening ceremonies Quotarians were asked to wear something red to acknowledge our troops overseas. Below Anne desribes the project for the attendees.
